DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of Prof. Gabriel Kotliar’s (Rutgers Universi
ty) visit to National Tsing Hua University\, we are organizing a one-day m
 ini-workshop on strongly correlated physics.\nStrongly correlated systems\
, in which electron–electron interactions cannot be treated as small per
turbations\, host some of the most striking phenomena in condensed matter
 physics\, including Mott transitions\, unconventional superconductivity\,
heavy-fermion behaviour\, strange metals\, and exotic magnetic and topolog
ical phases. Understanding these systems requires a combination of new the
oretical concepts\, advanced computational methods\, and close dialogue wi
th experiment.\nThe workshop aims to bring together researchers in Taiwan
working on correlated quantum matter from complementary perspectives\, inc
luding dynamical mean-field theory and its extensions\, tensor-network and
quantum Monte Carlo methods\, field-theoretical approaches\, quantum info
 rmation perspectives on many-body systems\, and first-principles studies o
f quantum materials. Through talks and open discussions\, we hope to foste
r exchange of ideas\, highlight recent progress\, and stimulate new collab
orations between local groups and our visitor.\nGraduate students and post
docs are especially encouraged to attend. Participation is free\, but regi
stration is requested for planning purposes.Confirmed speakers:1. Ying-Jer
  Kao (NTU) \n2. Yu-Te Hsu (NTHU)\n3. Chung-Yu Mou (NTHU)\n4. Atsushi Fuji
 mori (UTokyo/NTHU)\n5. Ian McCulloch (NTHU)\n\nhttps://indico.phys.nthu.ed
